Summary
The Order Packer Large Parcel - Talley position is an advanced role within the Operations department. You will be responsible for packing customer orders, internal material transfers, and vendor claims in accordance with Talley's established procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements. This role requires a high level of production, accuracy, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Perform a final quality check to verify that orders/transfers/vendor claims are 100% accurate in line with order requirements
- Report any discrepancies per established procedures
- Input data entry to accurately document items and quantities included in each packing transaction
- Prepare and package all outbound orders to ensure merchandise is sufficiently protected from in-transit loss or damage
- Apply packaging labels, attach packing lists, and stage completed orders for shipment manifest
- Identify expedited requirements and prioritize processing of those needs accordingly
- Assist in training new packing staff and other less experienced packers
- Report any unsafe work practices or accidents to the supervisor in a timely manner
- Conduct packing supply inventory checks and ensure stock levels of packing supplies are maintained
- Display strong work ethic and honesty, adhering to all company policies and procedures
- Engage in work with a high sense of urgency, highly organized and detail-oriented
- Be open to change and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a similar position or parallel working environment utilizing a handheld barcode scanner and desktop PC applications
- High School or GED - Preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to safely operate a pallet jack, tape machine, and other ordinary tools essential to perform the job
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and bend/reach overhead
- Must learn and understand Talley's Big Goal and align yourself to its principles, values, and stated mission
