Responsibilities

  • Review and support day-to-day operations.
  • Check local charges and agreement quotes to minimize potential branch losses.
  • Plan and support huddles and monthly meetings to discuss market intelligence and delegate workloads within the team.
  • Take an active role in the transition of new business or updates to existing business.
  • Grow department revenue in line with District budget targets and management expectations.
  • Implement new system changes and enhancements into your department; suggest system and process improvements.
  • Assist the Manager with EPE’s on the department in line with the 3+1 Initiative.
  • Assist the Manager with key staff in goal setting and monitoring development.
  • Proactively work to maintain accounts payment within 30 days and ensure company credit procedures are followed.
  • Manage accounts payable to vendors utilizing BNP and intercompany accounting discrepancies via AJAX report.
  • Support billing of customer invoices, including taking a primary role in billing BNA Order Management customers.
  • Promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations and modeling integrity and pride for all employees.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.

Employee Development

  • Properly on-board new hires and ensure team members have clear expectations.
  • Provide frequent, timely, accurate, and honest feedback.
  • Participate in regular one-on-ones and annual reviews for employees.
  • Assist manager with development plans that address competency gaps or prepare employees for growth.
  • Ensure employees complete 52 hours of relevant training each year and required training is completed on time.
  • Foster a climate of compliance within the team, including adherence to company culture, internal policies, and government regulations.
  • Promote employee engagement, team vision, commitment, and trust.

Financial Excellence

  • Apply accounting expertise to assist department leadership with meeting financial growth and cost savings goals, including reviewing accounts receivable, analyzing billing activity for accuracy and timeliness, and monitoring department profitability and expenses.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor and improve product District Excellence and Global Business Operations metrics.
  • Monitor department process flow while constantly looking for areas to improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Assist with managing capacity and productivity of the department and team members.

Business Development

  • Assist department leadership with growing the product's business through involvement in sales and retention programs.
  • Respond to requests for proposal, quotation, or information with timely and market-competitive pricing matching the scope of service required by the customer.
  • Participate in the transition of new business and build and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Expeditors company policies and procedures.
  • Meet company standards of 52 hours of training per year, including management/leadership training as needed.
  • A good understanding of Expeditors’ products, services, and systems.
  • Strong market and competition knowledge.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
