Order Management Specialist

Role and Responsibilities

This position reports to the Planning & Fulfillment Manager and contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Pinetops, NC. Main stakeholders are internal and external customers.

• Provide internal and external customer service, including technical support, order and payment-related assistance, and claims management.
• Coordinate with relevant functions to ensure complete case ownership.
• Proactively communicate with customers and internal functions to guarantee customer satisfaction by providing all relevant information.
• Coordinate directly with scheduling, operations, quality, and shipping to ensure orders are completed and ship on time.
• Ensure resolution of customer issues (order, technical, payment) by coordinating with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain Management, and other internal and/or external teams.
• Recommend appropriate solutions for customer requests and coordinate with related teams to ensure complete handling of the request (production capability and scheduling, resourcing, quotes, price lists, invoice).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 0‑2 years of experience, or associate’s degree with 8 years, or high school diploma with 10 years; alternatively a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments in customer service.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Strong knowledge of ABB systems (SPINE, SAP, SOM) – a plus.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment, make critical decisions quickly, and work effectively in a team.
• Must already have work authorization permitting employment with ABB in the U.S.; no relocation provided.
