Order Entry

About the role

This position is responsible for essential job functions related to order entry with limited supervision. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, this role is deemed safety sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Reviews industry and customer specifications to create accurate shop travelers using industry standards, customer paperwork, and planning department review.
• Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate purchase order discrepancies.
• Assists with other functions as required, including answering phones.
• Brings any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of a supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Handles customer inventory with care to prevent loss or damage, performing duties in a safe and responsible manner.

Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of equivalent/relevant work experience in heat treating or a related industry.
• Basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, and related subjects.
• Knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn industry, customer, and metallurgical standards.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases.
• Good understanding of basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.

Physical & Mental Demands

• Ability to work in a sitting position for extended periods (e.g., at a desk, while driving, or during airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform job functions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
