About the Role

Immanuel Communities is seeking an Ordained Pastor to provide spiritual care for residents, participants, their families, and staff, and to lead Mission-related efforts at Copper Shores Village, located at 1500 Edgewater Drive, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327. Copper Shores Village includes 67 independent living apartments, 38 assisted living apartments, and 14 memory support apartments, situated next to Copper Creek Lake.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite pastoral care, including worship planning and leadership, Bible studies, resident/participant visitation, and staff support.
  • Provide offsite pastoral care, such as visitations to hospitals, rehab centers, skilled nursing facilities, or family members’ homes.
  • Offer extended pastoral care, including end-of-life planning, care conferences, and funeral/memorial planning.
  • Provide on-call availability for spiritual care needs.
  • Serve as a resource to staff for residents’/participants’ spiritual health as part of whole-person care.
  • Provide care, instruction, and support for staff regarding grief and similar matters.
  • Support and advocate for Immanuel Community Foundation funds.
  • Coordinate with VP Mission/Spiritual Care for community outreach, education, and relationship building.
  • Serve as the point person for Mission- and Vision-related efforts, including new employee orientation and CHRIST Promises Awards.
  • Engage with other Immanuel pastors with collegiality and mutual support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Master of Divinity or equivalent degree in a related field of study is required.
  • At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of pastoral or related experience is required. Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience.
  • Ordination in and endorsement by individual’s denominational church body is required.
  • Commitment to full inclusivity in providing spiritual care.
  • Current certification in boundaries training.
