About the role
The Computer History Museum is seeking an Oral History Program Manager to lead the Museum’s Oral History Program. This role bridges archival practice and storytelling, bringing the voices of computing pioneers to life across the Museum’s website, social media, and on-site experiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the Museum’s Oral History Program
- Develop, document, and publish oral history interviews
- Maintain high standards for archival quality
- Support institutional priorities for collecting and preserving computing history
- Work cross-functionally with curatorial, collections, and digital teams to translate oral history content into accessible and engaging formats for digital platforms
- Balance program management, content development, and stakeholder coordination to expand the reach and impact of the Museum’s oral history collection
Requirements
- Experience in oral history collection and curation
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in digital content creation and presentation
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in history, library science, or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in oral history or archival work
- Experience working with digital platforms and storytelling techniques
Skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent writing and editing abilities
- Knowledge of digital preservation and archiving practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
