Enterprise trade surveillance and compliance applications within Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology. Location: Jersey City, New Jersey. Job type: Contract.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers for trade data processing
- Build scalable data pipelines to support Trade Surveillance use cases (e.g., market abuse detection, alerts generation)
- Develop and optimize high-volume batch processing jobs
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting
- Collaborate with compliance and surveillance teams to translate surveillance scenarios into technical solutions
- Support alert generation frameworks and case management data structures
- Ensure data lineage, traceability, and auditability of trade data
- Investigate and remediate data quality issues impacting surveillance outcomes
- Review and understand the code implemented in Actimize AIS, then re-engineer the underlying logic into PL/SQL
- Perform query tuning, indexing, and execution plan optimization for large datasets
- Deliver regulator-ready solutions with measurable improvements in alert quality, coverage, and control effectiveness
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Strong, production-level Oracle PL/SQL and Actimize AIS knowledge
- Experience with relational and object databases
- Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and strong understanding of database internals
- Solid understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and version control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to data accuracy and control effectiveness
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulatory-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with ownership and accountability
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle (orders, executions, etc.)
- Exposure to Trade Surveillance, Market Misconduct, Global Markets Compliance
- Exposure to Actimize AIS platform

Pay
$54.00 - 64.62 per hour
