Oracle Health Cerner Patient Accounting Consultant Job Summary The Oracle Health Cerner Patient Accounting Consultant is responsible for implementing, optimizing, and supporting Cerner Patient Accounting (RevElate / Patient Accounting / Soarian Financials, depending on environment). This role partners with revenue cycle, finance, and IT stakeholders to ensure accurate billing, claims processing, and reimbursement workflows within the Cerner platform. Key Responsibilities Lead or support implementation and optimization of Cerner Patient Accounting solutionsConfigure and maintain system components such as:Charge services and charge capture workflowsBilling rules and claim editsRemittance processing (ERA/EOB)Payment posting and adjustmentsCollaborate with revenue cycle teams to improve:Claims managementDenials and appeals processesAccounts receivable (A/R) workflowsAnalyze current workflows and recommend system/process improvementsSupport system upgrades, testing cycles (unit, integrated, UAT), and go-live activitiesTroubleshoot issues related to billing, claims, and reimbursementDevelop and maintain documentation (build specs, workflows, training materials)Provide end-user training and post-go-live supportEnsure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements (CMS, HIPAA, etc.) Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, IT, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)3–7+ years of experience with Cerner / Oracle Health Patient AccountingHands-on experience with:Revenue cycle workflowsClaims processing and billing systemsPayment posting and reconciliationExperience with Cerner tools such as:RevElate (preferred) or legacy Patient AccountingPowerChart (nice to have for integration understanding)Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operationsExperience with system configuration, testing, and supportExcellent problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with:Cerner RevElate migration or implementationSoarian Financials (if applicable)HL7 interfaces and downstream billing integrationsKnowledge of SQL, reporting tools, or data analysisExperience working in consulting environments or client-facing rolesCertifications in Cerner / Oracle Health (if available) Key Skills Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)Patient Accounting & BillingClaims & Denials ManagementSystem Configuration & TestingWorkflow AnalysisStakeholder CommunicationHealthcare Compliance Knowledge Hourly range: $50-$65.
