Oracle DBA

About the role

The Oracle Database Administrator will perform database migration from existing on-prem datacenters to Oracle Cloud (ExaCC / ExaCS) with minimal to no downtime utilizing technologies including Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate. The DBA will monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance. Perform fail-over testing; implement database patches and upgrades; and demonstrate expert level knowledge of networks, storage, encryption, security, cloud and backup and recovery technologies.

Responsibilities

• Install and administer Oracle databases including: 11g, 12c, and 19c on AIX and LINUX platforms
• Administer Oracle databases in both OLTP and data warehouse environments
• Install and administer ASM
• Install and administer RAC
• Implement database patches and upgrades
• Configure backups, backing up, and restoring databases with backup solutions including NetBackup, EMC Networker, and DDBoost
• Perform fail-over testing
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance
• Configure and administer Oracle Transparent Database Encryption (TDE) utilizing HSM based key storage
• Install, configure, and administer Oracle GoldenGate two-way replication with CDR and Automatic CDR
• Install and configure database utilities, including Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Perform troubleshooting problems relating to the Oracle database that may originate or exist in the infrastructure that supports the data store including application server, network, storage, and operating system component/layer
• Configure and administer other replication technologies including: Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and Streams
• Write shell scripts
• Write SQL
• Manage IT service management or ITIL utilizing Remedy and Service Now
• Hands-on experience with database tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

Requirements

• 7+ years experience installing and administering Oracle databases including: 11g, 12c, and 19c on AIX and LINUX platforms
• 5+ years experience administering Oracle databases in both OLTP and data warehouse environments
• 5+ years experience installing and administering ASM
• 5+ years experience installing and administering RAC
• 3 years experience with Oracle database migration from on-prem to ExaCS/ExaCC utilizing Zero Downtime Migration
• 5 years experience with backup and restore techniques for databases of at least 5TB
• 2 years experience with configuring backups, backing up, and restoring databases with backup solutions including NetBackup, EMC Networker, and DDBoost
• 5 years experience with performance tuning, problem diagnosis, and resolution in Oracle database environments
• 5 years experience troubleshooting problems relating to the Oracle database that may originate or exist in the infrastructure that supports the data store including application server, network, storage, and operating system component/layer
• 3 years experience with configuring and administering Oracle Transparent Database Encryption (TDE) utilizing HSM based key storage
• 3 years experience with database migration technologies to rehost and upgrade Oracle databases with minimal downtime
• 3 years experience with others replication technologies including: Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and Streams
• 3 years experience installing and configuring database utilities, including Oracle Enterprise Manager
• 3 years experience with shell scripting
• 3 years experience with SQL
• 3 years experience managing IT service management or ITIL utilizing Remedy and Service Now
• 3 years hands-on experience with database tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
