Oracle Database Administrator

Your combination of people skills and technical knowledge makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As an Oracle database administrator who specializes in SQL and Oracle, you’ll manage and secure database technology to improve the database infrastructure supporting our Navy client. You’ll work independently and as part of a team to implement database tuning, performance optimization, backup and recovery, and configuration of database parameters. Your contributions will help establish policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database, while identifying problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical databases.

Responsibilities

• Perform fresh installations of Oracle Database on various operating systems
• Configure database parameters and memory structures
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies
• Monitor database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, ASH, and OEM
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Configure and manage Oracle Advanced Security options and Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability
• Work in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments, including command-line operations
• Collaborate with developers on schema design and object creation (preferred)
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and security postures
• Diagnose and resolve complex database, application, network, and system issues under pressure

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience performing fresh installations of Oracle Database on various operating systems
• 3+ years of experience configuring database parameters and memory structures
• 3+ years of experience developing and implementing robust backup strategies
• 3+ years of experience monitoring database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, ASH, and OEM
• 3+ years of experience identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
• 3+ years of experience configuring and managing Oracle Advanced Security options and Oracle Data Guard
• 3+ years of experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments, including command-line
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• CompTIA Security+ Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience collaborating with developers on schema design and object creation
• Experience in SQL and PL/SQL for database management, scripting, and troubleshooting
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical teams, management, and customers

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility for direct collaboration.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
