About the Role

Under the direction of the ERP Technical Manager, the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Administrator is responsible for administering, monitoring, and maintaining the organization's Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environment. This role manages cloud resources across multiple compartments, implements & maintains Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, monitors platform health through OCI Observability services, and ensures the security, availability, and performance of enterprise OCI cloud resources. The OCI Administrator also supports system upgrades, automation, troubleshooting, and adherence to organizational security and compliance standards. This position serves as the technical lead for OCI operations, working closely with Oracle Support, infrastructure teams, security teams, database administrators, and application owners to resolve complex production issues.

Department Overview

IT Business Systems Technologies provides application and technical support for UCSF administrative systems. The Cloud ERP Financial Applications consists of Fund Management (General Ledger and Asset Management), Procure to Pay (Accounts Payable, Purchasing and eProcurement) and Research Administration (Accounts Receivables, Billing, Project Costing, Grants, Contract) modules. Cloud ERP Supply Chain encompasses Health Inventory & other supply chain modules.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 5+ years of related experience suggested at this level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including tenancy administration, compartments, networking, compute, storage, and cloud governance
  • Knowledge of advanced OCI security services, such as Web Application Firewall (WAF), Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, and Key Management
  • Knowledge of Oracle Identity and Access Management (IAM), including users, groups, dynamic groups, policies, federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and role-based access control
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner
  • Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance
  • Experience administering Oracle Cloud services, including Oracle Fusion ERP, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP), and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise cloud environment while ensuring high availability, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure, networking, database, and integration issues in a production environment
  • Knowledge of cloud lifecycle and environment management, including provisioning, cloning, refreshes, patch coordination, upgrades, decommissioning, and ensuring consistency across multiple non-production and production environments
  • Knowledge of cloud governance, security, and compliance best practices, including least-privilege access, resource management, operational standards, and disaster recovery planning
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, document technical solutions, develop operational procedures, and provide technical guidance across cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) maturity, including advanced Terraform modules, reusable automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Experience leading cloud migration or modernization initiatives, including transitions from on-premise systems to OCI or hybrid cloud architectures

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administration
  • Oracle Integration Cloud Architect
