Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital offering a wide range of services including women's services (obstetrics and fertility), emergency room, trauma center, Stroke Center, walk-in clinic, orthopedics across three Kansas City locations, Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center. As part of HCA Midwest Health, the hospital provides a supportive environment for skilled OR Techs who can handle most surgeries confidently but are not yet in a leadership or advanced specialty role.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
- Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
- Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team's needs
- Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
- Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years of operating room (OR) Technician experience
- Must be competent to perform as first scrub in three of the four specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular Surgery (Tech II requirement)
