OR Surgical Technician

About the role

The surgical technologist assists with all types of surgical procedures and performs related services to provide optimal nursing care under the direction of a professional nurse. This individual functions in the scrub area and collaborates with the surgical team to ensure a safe intraoperative environment for the patient undergoing an operative procedure.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology
• 1-3 years of surgical technologist experience in a hospital operating room setting

Qualifications

• Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills

Skills

• National certification, CST or CFA preferred
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association
