About the role

The RN participates as a member of the health care team in delivering quality health care to patients, supporting Kaiser Permanente’s mission, vision, and values. The RN provides a variety of nursing services both in person and by phone, utilizing the nursing process and leadership skills to address acute and chronic needs of Health Plan members and other patients of the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program. The RN works under the general direction of the designated supervisor.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in acute care or ambulatory care/clinic setting within the last five (5) years.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience circulating in an inpatient or ambulatory surgery operating room in the past five (5) years.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
• Registered Nurse license (Oregon).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Demonstrates clinical nursing and leadership skills.
• Able to type at least 20 words per minute.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to learn computerized information systems.
• Ability to work within teams and a dynamic work environment.
• Customer‑focused attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with population care/case management, triage, and advice.
• Current or future bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of operating‑room circulating and scrubbing experience (including at least two (2) years circulating in an inpatient or ambulatory surgery operating room in the past three (3) years).
• Nurse Operating Room Certificate (US‑CNOR) preferred.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (US‑ACLS) preferred.
• Pre‑operative area skills.
• IV start skills.
