About the role
Southpoint Surgery Center (SPSC) is a new Ambulatory Surgery Center located in the Durham-Southpoint area. SPSC provides high-quality, cost-effective surgical and related ancillary care for patients across various specialties.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized nursing care to surgical patients, demonstrating extensive knowledge to support a variety of illnesses and injuries.
- Develop and coordinate a safe plan of care within the framework of established policies and procedures.
- Incorporate cultural and developmental needs into the plan of care, collaborating with patients and families.
- Document patient care in the patient record according to established standards of nursing care.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, including data collection and analysis.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or compact multi-state license.
- BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required upon hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS & PALS certifications preferred; must obtain both within 6 months of hire if certification(s) is/are currently not active.
- CNOR Certification strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with perioperative instruments and equipment.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain patient safety.
- Flexibility to accept new responsibilities.
Skills
- Age-specific standards and policies.
- Documentation and compliance with Universal Protocol.
- Collaborative teamwork with surgeons, physician's assistants, anesthesia providers, SPD staff, Radiology, and other OR team members.

Pay
$15,000 sign-on bonus available for full-time OR RNs.
