About the role

Southpoint Surgery Center (SPSC) is a new Ambulatory Surgery Center located in the Durham-Southpoint area. SPSC provides high-quality, cost-effective surgical and related ancillary care for patients across various specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to surgical patients, demonstrating extensive knowledge to support a variety of illnesses and injuries.
• Develop and coordinate a safe plan of care within the framework of established policies and procedures.
• Incorporate cultural and developmental needs into the plan of care, collaborating with patients and families.
• Document patient care in the patient record according to established standards of nursing care.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, including data collection and analysis.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver optimal patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or compact multi-state license.
• BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required upon hire.
• American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS & PALS certifications preferred; must obtain both within 6 months of hire if certification(s) is/are currently not active.
• CNOR Certification strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with perioperative instruments and equipment.

• Flexibility to accept new responsibilities.

Skills

• Age-specific standards and policies.
• Documentation and compliance with Universal Protocol.
• Collaborative teamwork with surgeons, physician's assistants, anesthesia providers, SPD staff, Radiology, and other OR team members.

Pay

$15,000 sign-on bonus available for full-time OR RNs.
