Responsibilities
- Provide pre and postoperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into consideration their specific needs and goals.
- Educate patients and their families about postoperative care, including pain management strategies and potential complications.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond to emergencies promptly and effectively, demonstrating sound decision-making skills and a commitment to patient safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Continually update clinical knowledge and skills through professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current TX State RN License.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably within an operating room setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medication administration, care planning, patient and family education, pain management, and postoperative nursing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest standards of nursing practice.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Pay
$55,000 - $90,000 per year
