About the role
The role of OR/PACU Medical Assistant at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia involves assisting as a scrub technician in the operating room, preparing rooms for procedures, using sterile techniques, and providing ultrasound guidance under physician supervision.
Responsibilities
- Aid in maintaining a sterile and aseptic environment
- Set up and use appropriate equipment for surgical procedures
- Ensure availability of necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Use technical skills to care for and operate surgical instruments and equipment
- Maintain equipment according to OSHA guidelines
- Operate an autoclave and clean according to protocols
- Comfort patients by addressing concerns and providing support
Requirements
- Completed formal MA education/certification
- Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
- Experience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN)
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Influenza/IVF experience preferred
- Phlebotomy skills preferred
- Strong professionalism and customer service skills

Pay
$22 to $26 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule
Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time
