Clinical Responsibilities
- Welcome, receive, and prepare clients for appointments and procedures.
- Conduct client interviews, measure and record vital signs, and document client information into the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens in accordance with established protocols.
- Absorb and prepare for medication reviews, prior authorization, and referral processes and ensure the timely flow of client care.
- Maintains workstations, client rooms, and examination areas in a manner consistent with OSHA standards and Universal Precautions procedures.
- Maintain all applicable certifications (ex. BLS).
- Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stays abreast of current technologies and practices.
- Ensures compliance with clinical documentation standards, maintaining timely and accurate records in the EHR.
- Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in client flow, acuity, and other operation demands while maintaining quality high-quality care delivery.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with all team members and assist as needed to ensure a smooth operation.
- Receive and screen phone calls, answer client inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
- Schedule client appointments and manage the client flow within the office.
- Maintain accurate office and department records.
- Utilize EHR, phone systems, and other necessary technology tools to enhance clinic operations.
- Monitor and manage medical supplies inventory, ordering replacements when necessary.
Other Duties
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Be punctual and reliable, showing commitment to working as part of a team.
- Aid team members and the office as needed, offering flexibility in support of colleagues.
- Must possess good judgment, attention to detail, and ability to make sound decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to handle shifting priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Frequently required to sit or utilize a combination of sit/stand workstations.
- Frequent use of hand and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally required to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Continuous verbal communication and auditory tasks.
- Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Direct work experience.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Good judgment, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Basic Life Support (current AHA Provider Certification) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred
- Experience in an Outpatient Mental Health Office.
- Undergraduate in Psychology or Social Sciences.
- Formal Medical Assistant Training.
- Experience Working Within an EHR.
