Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant
- Provides superior patient care
- Performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks
- Supports patients in a clinic-based environment
- Works as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
Preferred Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program
- Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care
- Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
