Clarkson Eyecare is seeking a full-time Optometric Technician in Webster Groves, MO. Our offices are open Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-1pm; you must have open availability to work any shift within these hours.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills

- Proof of identity and right to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing
- Verify medical and vision insurances
- Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
- Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests
- Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- Practice urgency at all times, valuing a patient's time as well as the doctor's time and schedule
- Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX, or OCT
- Follow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)
- Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
- Interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager
- Consistently create a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused
- Commitment to work hours that meet the needs of the business, which may include weekends, schedule changes, or an extended schedule
Qualifications
- Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Physical Requirements
This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions:
- Frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%)
- Regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%)
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands for constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—required 100% of the time
- Occasional driving or climbing may be necessary
