About the Role
At AEG, we believe great patient experiences begin with great teams. As an Optometric Technician, you'll work alongside the Optometrists to support all aspects of patient care and education, ensuring that patients receive exceptional care. The Optometric Technician conducts pre‑testing procedures, assists with specialty diagnostic testing, performs post‑exam tasks, and manages the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure every patient receives an efficient, high‑quality experience from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto reflector, visual acuity, etc.
- Performs verbal interview with patient prior to visit with Optometrist to determine medical issues and reasons for their visit to provide details to Optometrist.
- May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists, Diagnostic follow-up visits, and other specialty referrals, and complete paperwork.
- Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance
