Today, Eyemart Express operates over 245 stores in 42 states, delivering quality eyewear at great prices with same-day delivery, in-store labs, and eye exams. As an Optical Retail Sales Associate, you’ll help customers see better by guiding them through frame, lens, and coating selections, ensuring accurate prescriptions and measurements, and dispensing completed glasses.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment policies, returns, and exchanges.
• Compute and process payment transactions and refunds using the in-house Point of Sale system.
• Process insurance claims efficiently.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
• Create and maintain patient files in compliance with company and HIPAA policies.
• Assess and interpret patient needs based on prescriptions, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation; recommend appropriate frames, lens types, and coatings.
• Take necessary measurements, including pupillary distance.
• Prepare work orders for the lab with all pertinent information (patient details, prescription, lens specifications, measurements, coatings, tints, etc.).
• Pull correct lenses according to work order specifications.
• Inspect finished glasses for accuracy and adjust fit using tools such as pliers, hands, and heat.
• Perform adjustments and repairs, including frame bending, nose pad replacement, and screw replacement.
• Price, stock, and organize merchandise.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in retail, customer service, or sales.
• Optical industry experience preferred but not required; training provided.
