We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in New Haven, CT. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting clinical activities in our ophthalmology clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Inform patients about ophthalmic procedures.
  • Review patient charts, conditions, and physician notes.
  • Set up and maintain equipment for tests and procedures.
  • Report equipment problems and liaise with repair personnel.
  • Maintain quality control checks and log service records.
  • Order and maintain inventory of supplies and manage disposal inventory according to department protocol.
  • Perform additional clinical activities such as scheduling appointments.

Requirements

  • Experience in healthcare and medical settings.
  • EPIC experience.
  • 1-2 years of medical office experience or 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician credential.
  • Experience in refraction, triage, care management, and patient care.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Reliability and consistent attendance.

Skills

  • LPN license is not required.

Work Environment

This role is based in the ophthalmology clinic located in New Haven, offering a collaborative and patient-focused environment supported by advanced medical practices and a commitment to innovation.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.

Pay

The pay range for this contract position is $25.00 - $35.00 per hour.
