Overview
Flexi/PRN As an Ophthalmic Tech with Sentara, you will be responsible for the performance of procedures for the diagnostic and treatment of ophthalmic disease. With the Manager of the Eye Center for Sight, the Technician/Technologist will coordinate patient care to meet the expectations of the patients and staff. Along with the completion of technical procedures, the Technician/Technologist will manage clinics as assigned. Providing assistance to the Eye Center staff and Ophthalmology residents is also part of the role.
Responsibilities
- Perform ophthalmic procedures for diagnostic and treatment of ophthalmic disease
- Coordinate patient care to meet patient and staff expectations
- Manage clinics as assigned
- Provide assistance to Eye Center staff and Ophthalmology residents
Requirements
- Trade School Graduate - Ophthalmic Technologist Certification/Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
- RQI Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) - Certification - IJCAHPO (International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology)
- 1 year of ophthalmic experience required
