Responsibilities
- Engage in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals.
- Translate scientific insights into meaningful interactions.
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
- Develop a deep understanding of clinical practice relevant to areas of interest.
- Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers.
- Communicate clinical and scientific data through presentations, educational programs, and scientific discussions.
- Provide support for addressing unsolicited medical questions and other scientific exchange matters.
- Identify, gather, and document field-generated scientific insights to drive innovative Medical Affairs strategies.
- Maintain a comprehensive scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related scientific literature.
- Collaborate with field-based Medical colleagues, appropriate Commercial colleagues, and the broader organization to provide scientific expertise and share Medical insights.
Requirements
- Advanced degree required (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA, OD or equivalent in life sciences).
- 3+ years of prior Medical Science Liaison experience (in eye care highly preferred).
- Deep scientific knowledge and genuine passion for ophthalmology.
- Prior experience with payer presentations is a plus.
- Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 60–80% within assigned territory.
Pay
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,000-$197,500. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
