Ophthalmology Researcher Glaucoma (Open Rank)

About the Role

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a junior faculty member to join its research mission. This position will perform basic science and/or translational research in specialized areas, including didactic and bench-side teaching of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, as well as presenting at departmental grand rounds and college seminars.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a nationally competitive research program with continued extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, and collaboration with other faculty.
• Participate in didactic teaching and mentoring of medical and graduate students.
• Participate in service functions of the department and university, as well as at the national level, including committees, editorial boards, and study sections.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
• Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed and other professional journals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Research experience in dry eye, glaucoma, cornea, or neuro-optics.
