About the role

The Eye team at MetroHealth is seeking a Medical Retina Specialist to join our academic faculty practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vibrant academic environment, with a strong emphasis on teaching, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the education and supervision of ophthalmology residents, including those from the Cole Eye Institute, in both outpatient and surgical settings.
  • Engage in clinical and teaching responsibilities, including case discussions, lectures, and mentoring.
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and collaborative projects across departments and institutions.

Requirements

  • A current medical license in good standing with the Ohio Board of Medical Licensure.
  • Completion of an ABOIM residency program in ophthalmology.
  • Experience in retinal disease diagnosis and management.
  • Strong interest in academic medicine and teaching.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board certification in Ophthalmology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Skills

  • Proven ability to teach and mentor residents and fellows.
  • Experience in clinical research and quality improvement.
  • Strong collaborative skills and a commitment to patient care.
