Responsibilities

• Complete all necessary work up including obtaining medical and surgical history, and the completion of all diagnostic testing
• Assist the doctor in the exam lane and in surgical procedures
• Ensure that all forms are complete and pertinent information has been recorded
• Maintain the outcome data
• Perform deft in auto refractions, topographical mapping, wavefront analysis, lensometer, pachymeter and visual acuities
• Evaluate and measure pupil size and responses, general use of a slit lamp microscope, applanation tonometer and proper instillation of eye drops
• Understand all equipment and instruments used in the center, including LASIK suite
• Provide pre/post-operative care and instructions
• Assist in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterilized equipment
• Stock all medication and medical supplies by proactively planning work week to ensure completion of required tasks
• Call to request pre/post-ops on surgery patients
• Order all medical supplies
• Keep up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment
• Assist in other areas as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years experience as Ophthalmology Technician is ideal
• LASIK experience is a plus
• Desire to provide an exceptional patient experience

Pay

USD $22.00/Hr. – USD $25.00/Hr.
