Responsibilities
- Complete all necessary work up including obtaining medical and surgical history, and the completion of all diagnostic testing
- Assist the doctor in the exam lane and in surgical procedures
- Ensure that all forms are complete and pertinent information has been recorded
- Maintain the outcome data
- Perform deft in auto refractions, topographical mapping, wavefront analysis, lensometer, pachymeter and visual acuities
- Evaluate and measure pupil size and responses, general use of a slit lamp microscope, applanation tonometer and proper instillation of eye drops
- Understand all equipment and instruments used in the center, including LASIK suite
- Provide pre/post-operative care and instructions
- Assist in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterilized equipment
- Stock all medication and medical supplies by proactively planning work week to ensure completion of required tasks
- Call to request pre/post-ops on surgery patients
- Order all medical supplies
- Keep up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment
- Assist in other areas as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years experience as Ophthalmology Technician is ideal
- LASIK experience is a plus
- Desire to provide an exceptional patient experience
Pay
USD $22.00/Hr. – USD $25.00/Hr.
