Ophthalmic Technician
The Role
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Life Sciences, we are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician who is eager to join a dynamic startup in the field of eye health and clinical research.
Responsibilities
- Interface with patients to perform Ophthalmic testing using advanced equipment and technology to accurately assess vision, eye pressure, retinal imaging, and more
- Drive the mobile clinic across different states to provide care to patients who need access to eye care
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications for operating equipment onboard the mobile eye clinic
- Build reports and transmit data precisely according to each clinical protocol
- Communicate with patients and keep them updated on their visit details
- Enter and transmit data to sponsors, Principal Investigators (PIs), and reading centers
- Ensure that all data is accurate, timely, and acceptable upon submission
- Travel 100% of the time
Requirements
- You are a certified Paraoptometric or Ophthalmic Technician, though certification is not mandatory
- You have experience working with patients in a clinic setting
- You have some experience with ophthalmic testing or procedures
- You have experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting
- You are a great communicator who is responsive to patient/client needs
- You are curious about new subjects and interested in learning new things
- You enjoy driving and traveling
- You are a dependable and organized team player
- You pay close attention to detail and can effectively capture data to enhance the patient/client experience
- You can prioritize tasks and responsibilities appropriately, especially in a fast-paced environment
- You are flexible to work outside of a traditional 9-5 schedule
