About the role
Nemours is seeking a Part-Time Ophthalmic Tech to support their satellite office at Kingswood in Wilmington, DE.
Responsibilities
- Successfully navigate and document patient information into the EPIC-EMR
- Perform a comprehensive ocular exam including medical and ocular history, visual acuities, color vision, lensometry, cover tests, motility tests, stereopsis tests, external examination, pupil evaluation, slit lamp biomicroscopy, intraocular pressures, refractometry, patching instructions, and contact lens instructions
- Administer ophthalmic medications according to the approved divisional clinical pathway and confirmed competency
- Maintain exam room supplies, medications, and patient educational materials at par level
- Ensure ophthalmic equipment is operational daily and throughout the day
- Collaborate with physicians and supervisor to optimize patient flow and efficiency
- Participate in associate orientation and training as needed
- Communicate effectively with peers to provide high-quality service
- Travel to multiple sites 1-2 days per week
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Two years of satisfactory, full-time work experience under ophthalmologic or optometric supervision, or completion of an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program plus one year of work experience
- JCAHPO certification at COA, COT, or COMT level preferred
- Must have BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of employment

Pay
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour.
Schedule
