Responsibilities
- Performs state-of-the-art diagnostic testing for all Faculty, Fellows and Residents at the Flaum Eye Institute/Department of Ophthalmology.
- Supports clinical testing and patient care for various physician and sub-specialties throughout the eye institute.
- Provides intermediate to advanced diagnostic testing and imaging.
- Works closely with a Physician and spends most of the time working with patients and supporting the physicians.
- May perform as Lead Technician.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- 1-2 years of closely related clinical experience or training/coursework in optometry, ophthalmology or related field required.
- A 4-year college education, including related optometry, ophthalmology and/or technical training with certification by the registry of the Joint Commission of Allied Health in Personnel Ophthalmology, or other nationally recognized professional certifying body; or a 2-year college education in an appropriate science and 2 years of closely related laboratory experience preferred.
- Certification by the registry of the Joint Commission of Allied Health in Personnel Ophthalmology, or other nationally recognized professional certifying body required.

- Flexibility to work extended hours based on the needs of the department.
