Responsibilities
- Provides intermediate to advanced diagnostic testing and imaging.
- Works closely with a Physician and spends most of the time working with patients and supporting the physicians.
- May perform as Lead Technician.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required.
- One to two years of closely related clinical experience or training/coursework in optometry, ophthalmology, or related field is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
- A 4-year college education, including related optometry, ophthalmology, and/or technical training with certification by the registry of the Joint Commission of Allied Health in Personnel Ophthalmology, or other nationally recognized professional certifying body, is preferred.
- A 2-year college education in an appropriate science and 2 years of closely related laboratory experience is also preferred.
- CPR certification is required.
- The ability to identify the purpose of commonly used medications, including proper administration, dosage, durations, and common side effects, and know hospital policy about the shelf life of these medications is necessary.
- The understanding of how these medications work both within the eye and systemically is required.
- Certification by the registry of the Joint Commission of Allied Health in Personnel Ophthalmology, or other nationally recognized professional certifying body, is required.

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
