Responsibilities
- Performs clinical and research imaging.
- Images the retina and anterior segment for the purpose of documenting, monitoring, and diagnosing a disease process or condition.
- Recognizes problems with equipment versus patient media opacities.
- Utilizes special imaging digital fundus cameras, specific image capture software and manipulation software.
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repair of all imaging equipment.
- Maintains and orders an adequate inventory of supplies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated, basic knowledge of image manipulation software.
- Ability to edit and transfer images from digital camera to the patient database.
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records with WILLOW, AXIS, EPIC, and POWERCHART.
- Knowledge of operating room protocol and attire.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalency.
- Certified RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system.
- Experience as an Ophthalmic Photographer or Ophthalmic Technician.
- Experience with digital manipulation software.
- Experience with clinical research studies.
Skills
- Knowledge of operating room protocol and attire.
