About the role
This position involves escorting and rooming patients, obtaining medical histories, performing clinical procedures, assisting healthcare providers, and preparing electronic prescriptions.
Responsibilities
- Escort and room patients, obtain medical histories, and document chief complaints.
- Measure and record vital signs, perform vision screenings, and complete other delegated clinical procedures.
- Absorb and assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers during examinations, diagnostic testing, and minor office procedures.
- Perform selected laboratory testing and collect, label, and prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
- Prepare electronic prescriptions for provider review and transmission to pharmacies according to organizational policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a related field.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records systems.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and anatomy.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $23/hr - $27.21/hr, based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Schedule
The schedule for this contract position is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Location
The location for this role is Poughkeepsie, NY.

The job type is Contract.
Contract Length
The contract length is 9 months, with the possibility of extension.
