Job Description
Supports the patient care functions of the Eye Clinic, performing tests and assisting procedures under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, or RN Clinic Leader.
- Tests visual acuity, stereo vision, and color vision.
- Counsels patients on eye health and safety.
- Conducts visual field testing using both the Goldman Perimeter and Humphrey Visual Fields Analyzer.
- Evaluates ocular anatomy, ocular motility and papillary responses.
- Assists physicians with exams and procedures as needed.
- Performs autorefraction and ophthalmic photography for both external and fundus photos.
- Accurately records information in electronic medical record according to established standards and physician’s requirements.
- Maintains and cleans ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Provides instruction to patients and caregivers as directed by the physician.

Education Requirement
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement

Certifications
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within one year of hire, required.
