About the Role

The OPEX Manager will manage the manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement teams and oversee our 3rd party maintenance team. This role supports operational performance by reducing equipment downtime and process failures, improving productivity, and implementing capital programs to support profit and strategic plans. The manager will deploy CIF/ELSS at the operational level, drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools, and lead the capital planning process to enhance plant capability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvement departments.
  • Manage and oversee the activities of the 3rd party maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement an Operations Excellence organizational structure to support profit plans and Objective Plan initiatives.
  • Deploy CIF and ELSS to achieve operational goals.
  • Plan and deploy training to support plant goals in manufacturing excellence and lean manufacturing.
  • Maintain safe and healthy working conditions, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Study, investigate, and recommend new technologies, methods, tools, and procedures in manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze key manufacturing process metrics related to the Eaton Balanced Scorecard and customer systems, establishing action plans to close gaps.
  • Manage performance and provide career development opportunities for employees within the manufacturing engineering and OpEx function.
  • Train and lead the plant in CI tools, Continuous Improvement Framework, EBS pull, and Rapid Improvement events through hands-on activities.
  • Lead the capital planning process to improve overall plant capability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and assist with corporate initiatives, driving best practices across Eaton.
  • Drive employee engagement and enhance problem-solving knowledge at all levels.
  • Act as an agent of change, enabling and driving change effectively.
  • Deliver clear, impactful, and audience-tailored communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or lean manufacturing deployment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a manager of people.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (highly preferred).
  • Seven (7) years of experience with manufacturing engineering.
  • Project management experience or PMP certification.
  • Professional Engineering Certification (PE, CQE, CQM, etc.).
  • Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or business administration.
  • Certification in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Set-up Reduction, Problem Solving Kaizen, Lean Material Flow, and Six-Sigma.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113,000 - $165,000. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
