About the role
The Operator position at CF Industries is responsible for various operational tasks such as loading and unloading products, maintaining facilities, and responding to emergencies. This role requires flexibility in shift work, including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Carry out product loading and unloading functions according to established procedures.
- Maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds in accordance with operating procedures.
- Understand and apply principles of refrigeration systems.
- Maintain and update relevant manuals and records.
- Comply with all training, environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Assist with training and development of other operators.
- Interact and coordinate with Emergency Response Personnel in case of hazardous material spills.
- Progress through and maintain skills acquired in the Operator Progression Program.
- Perform maintenance duties or provide assistance in emergency situations at other Company locations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of capital and maintenance projects.
- Assume management responsibilities of facility when facility manager is absent.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Equivalent of 2 years college, military/technical training, or related work experience.
- Ability to understand and follow operating procedures.
- Refrigeration knowledge commensurate with position level.
- Good communication skills.
- HAZMAT certification (post-employment requirement).
- Basic computer skills and capability for data entry and information retrieval.
- Able to work in a continuous operating environment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
- Must be able to work with hazardous chemicals.
- Must be willing to work on nights, holidays, and weekends with little or no advanced notice.
Qualifications

Schedule
12-hour rotating shifts (6am to 6pm; 6pm to 6am). Work may be necessary on nights, holidays, and weekends with little or no advanced notice on occasion.
