Operator Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment while performing job duties.
• Maintain a sufficient number of Gaylord boxes and liners ready for use.
• Inspect Gaylord boxes and liners before filling to ensure they are clean and suitable.
• Weigh and package material accurately with neat and legible labels.
• Drive a forklift.
• Assist the machine operator during start-up and shutdown.
• Monitor vacuum chambers and notify the shift supervisor if necessary.
• Handle and store finished product properly and efficiently, including bulk materials.
• Keep the work area and tools neat, clean, and stored properly.
• Break open, disassemble, clean, and reassemble coolers.
• Stack packages neatly, even in temporary storage.
• Work collaboratively with the production foreman to complete assigned tasks.
• Follow safety, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 procedures.
• Be available to work shifts as assigned, including overtime.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Score Silver or above on Work Keys test.
• Certified Forklift License and prior forklift experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Sit and work on a computer.
• Stand for 10 to 12 hours per day.
• Use hands, handle, or feel objects.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Talk or hear.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus required.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with dust, outdoors, and high noise levels.
