What you'll be contributing
- Works as part of a team to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant
- Inspects and troubleshoots the rotary dryer, ball mill system, material handling systems, auxiliary equipment, and bulk storage/shipping equipment
- Performs quality control sampling and testing, routine plant equipment inspections and repairs, preventative maintenance routines, and product shipping
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
- Ensure that all field equipment is operating properly; resolve and prevent field problems; perform inspections necessary to minimize downtime and optimize equipment operations
- Perform daily inspections, quality testing, and provide documentation and reporting as required or as directed by plant management
- Provide general cleanup services as needed in the plant as required
- Store, stock and handle all material
- Operate mobile equipment and product shipping
- Accurately complete ASTM test procedures for finished cementitious product
- Troubleshoot potential concerns required to achieve and maintain maximum productivity. Report operational problems to Shift Lead for action and / or participate in corrective actions if appropriate
- Keep up-to-date on all standard operating procedural changes and be instrumental in developing new procedures as required
- Assist other departments as needed
- Safely operate mobile equipment as required to meet shift production targets and perform clean up necessary for an efficient operation
- Gather and prepare samples and analyze results using, Mesh Analyzers
- Work with little or no supervision
- Perform any and all other duties as may be assigned from time to time
- Work any shifts, including weekends and paid holidays as schedules dictate and work a reasonable amount of overtime
- Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation
To succeed in this position, you will need
- High school graduation or equivalent is required.
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Willingness to learn, training will be provided.
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of a cement or related dry materials manufacturing process
- Knowledge in control system operation
- Knowledge of mobile equipment operation
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles
