About The Role

The Operator Technician plays an important role in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant systems and equipment. You will be responsible for monitoring, operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment to support plant operations while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Start, stop, and monitor plant equipment by reading gauges, meters, and instrumentation
- Record operating conditions, activities, and observations in logs and electronic records
- Use computers and monitor systems to measure, record, and adjust operating parameters
- Diagnose, maintain, repair, and overhaul mechanical and electrical equipment safely
- Perform preventive, corrective, and improvement-related maintenance tasks
- Conduct chemical analysis and maintain proper chemical control of steam, cooling, and condensate systems
- Maintain accurate chemistry logs and operational documentation
- Support system improvement and plant betterment projects to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Support the development, revision, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure compliance with plant procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Maintain plant security and follow site access protocols
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and manlifts
- Safely handle, transfer, and manage bulk chemicals and hazardous materials
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma with trade school, military service, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of directly related experience
- Experience using test equipment and calibration tools
- Developing technical skills; work under guidance
- Begin progress toward required certifications/licensures
- Valid state driver's license
