About the role

We are hiring a Production Operator II in Sacramento, CA. The role involves safely filling and inspecting gas products into various cylinders, supporting operations, and maintaining high-pressure and medical cylinders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment to fill industrial gas mixes, cryogenic gases, and medical gas products.
  • Inspect cylinders before filling, following government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
  • Perform safety checks such as odor tests and check caps and valves.
  • Support loading and unloading of cylinders on and off trucks.
  • Operate forklifts and prepare cylinders for filling.
  • Prepare and fill cylinders according to regulations and standards.
  • Complete quality control sheets as required.
  • Label cylinders accurately and maintain a clean, orderly plant.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete training and achieve certifications for filling cryogenic liquids and pure industrial gases.
  • Ability to complete FDA, Food Grade, and CGMP Training and achieve certifications.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in related manufacturing operations, filling or loading experience preferred.
  • Strong background in gas, welding, and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.
  • Able to operate forklift and maintain appropriate forklift certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Skills

  • Knowledge of safety protocols regarding various gases, sizes, and contents of cylinders.
  • Ability to read and interpret cylinder labels and color-coding of tanks.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.

Pay

The hourly base pay range for this position in California is $22.00 /hr. Please note that the hourly base pay information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Schedule

Shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
