Under the direction of the Production Lead, the Operator II will check the cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment, set parameters according to specifications and procedures, and prepare chocolate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and optimum condition of the equipment before starting; notify the Leader if issues are found.
• Follow Lead direction to support department priorities and needs.
• Ensure packaging materials are in good condition.
• Verify no discrepancies exist between materials used and those requested for production.
• Correctly set up boxes and liners on the equipment.
• Use materials defined by the process order for the product; consult the shift leader as needed.
• Perform tests to check the functioning of the Metal detector and Vision system at the start of the shift and at established frequencies.
• Notify the shift leader of excess rejections, follow the HACCP program, and carry out corresponding actions.
• Generate the barcode label every time a pallet is completed and verify its legibility and accuracy.
• Register the storage unit number in the corresponding format.
• Remove the pallet from the palletizer to the wrapper once completed.
• Adjust the wrapper according to the type of box being used.
• Set the weigh scale according to the product and make necessary adjustments to comply with established weights.
• Verify the weight of the box at established times and record it in the corresponding format.
• Perform visual inspections to ensure the box closes entirely and no liner is outside the box.
• Notify the shift leader whenever rework is generated in bulk bags for re-incorporation in the remelter.
• Support cleaning of nozzle plates, packaging lines, reworking, and re-packaging.
• Operate the rework melter.
• Provide coverage for all packaging lines (MIK01, MIK02, BUH01, BM001).
• Notify the leader in charge of any anomalies outside the procedure.
• Turn off equipment when not in operation.
• Respect safety rules and follow company safety procedures to ensure personal and colleague safety.
• Report unsafe acts and conditions.
• Participate in mandatory training sessions.
• Commit to fulfilling client expectations for quality and service, and comply with regulatory standards applicable to the food industry.
• Report any potential or real danger to your superior and the Quality department.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the area, tools, and equipment in your care.
• Strictly follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum 2 years of production manufacturing experience.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Good organization, math, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated; ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Good mechanical ability/aptitude.
• Must adhere to all GMP and food safety rules.
• Experience driving a forklift is a plus.
• Ability to lift at least 25 kg (50 lbs).
