The Production Operator II contributes to safely managing the care of and filling gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas. Other duties include warehouse, shipping, and receiving.
Responsibilities
- Support various operations in the plant, including monitoring equipment to fill industrial gas mixes, cryogenic gases, and medical gas products, and contributing to both level 1 & 2 activities.
- Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
- Conduct a variety of safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests and checking caps and valves.
- Evaluate products for purity and correct mixtures.
- Manage the care of high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders.
- Prepare high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling.
- Attach to the manifold and ensure the removal of all possible contaminants.
- Fill cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
- Maintain accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
- Complete quality control sheets as required.
- Read and interpret cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks to understand safety protocols regarding various gases, sizes, and contents of cylinders.
- Accurately label cylinders.
- Align with all government and company standards for safely handling hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
- Perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described, including shipping and receiving.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in related manufacturing operation; filling or loading experience preferred.
- Strong background in gas, welding, and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.
- Ability to complete training and achieve certifications for filling all cryogenic liquids and pure industrial gases.
- Ability to complete FDA, Food Grade, and CGMP Training and achieve certifications.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and maintain appropriate forklift certifications.

Pay
$25-$27/hr. + Pay for Performance Bonus
