About the role

This position operates and adjusts all process equipment chopped and formed line for smooth and productive operations; monitors lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork, report to the assigned line, complete walk through and prepare for operations.
  • Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear and perform a safety check on equipment to be used in daily operations and ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
  • Check schedule, work orders and bulk product inventory, take oil, blancher and finished product samples to lab as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, hose down area, sweep / shovel up spills, empty trash and replace liners.
  • Monitor the blancher and fryer, complete walk through, take samples, make adjustments, check drains and magnets as required.
  • Manually dump and / or scoop ingredients and condiments into hoppers according to recipe and pump oil from fryer as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education/ Certifications: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
  • Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, required.
  • Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Qualifications

  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
  • Basic physical demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
  • Physical Environment/Demands: Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products.
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
