Responsibilities
- Operate mechanized equipment safely, efficiently, and within specifications
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and resolve equipment issues
- Monitor operations via computer systems and control room interfaces
- Sample, test, and inspect materials and products
- Handle and pack materials in bags, totes, drums, or sacks
- Fill tanks and transfer product as needed
- Perform physically demanding tasks (e.g., moving hoses, cleaning equipment)
- Learn and support cross-functional roles
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA regulations
Requirements
- Willingness to work in varying environments (hot/cold, noisy, with carbon black exposure)
- Strict adherence to safety and PPE requirements (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, dust respirators)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs/ladders, bend, reach, push, and pull
- Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Reliable team player who works well with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Computer literate (basic email and control system use)
- Mechanically inclined and eager to learn new skills
- Forklift experience is a plus; ability to obtain certification is required

Working Conditions
This role operates within an active chemical recycling plant with exposure to carbon black, liquid hydrocarbon oils, and vapor streams. Protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators) is required in designated areas. The facility includes indoor and outdoor operations, elevated equipment access, and industrial-grade processing equipment.
