About the role

Perform intermediate level work related to gas and/or liquids pipeline system operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline operations and maintenance activities on systems including compressor stations, gas storages, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment.
• Startup and shutdown
• Pigging
• Collecting liquids
• Changing charts
• Gauging tanks
• Locating and marking lines
• Making leakage surveys and patrolling pipelines
• Blowing drips
• Providing calculations, compiling, and preparing information and reports including but not limited to: Gas/liquid flow and quality, Maintenance and/or repair logs, Samples (gas/liquids), Pipeline/corrosion activities, Construction inspection, Appropriate regulatory requirements
• Driving and ensuring maintenance is completed on assigned company vehicles
• Reacting immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others

Requirements

• Experience operating and maintaining pipeline systems and related equipment utilized in natural gas and liquids gathering and transmission systems
• Experience in various field functions including measurement, cathodic protection, and compressor/pump station operations
• Experience in maintenance and the repair of equipment
• Knowledge of: cathodic protection/corrosion control activities
• Knowledge of: Company and governmental operating/safety procedures and environmental regulations
• Knowledge of: Natural gas and gas liquids
• Knowledge of: Pigging pipelines, blowing drips, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids
• Knowledge of: Construction methods
• Knowledge of: Patrolling pipelines, performing leakage surveys, and locating/marking lines
• Knowledge of: Working with valves and dehydration equipment, scrubbers, and separators
• Knowledge of: Using applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.
• Knowledge of: Interacting, negotiating, advising and communicating effectively and in exchanging written and verbal information and instructions

• Use tools and equipment including computers and related software
• Establish, prioritize assignments and complete assignments in a timely manner with limited supervision
• Use logic and reasoning to identify alternate solutions or approaches to a problem
• Communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages and other written information, which may contain technical material, in a logical, organized and coherent manner
• Apply the use of formulas to estimate or calculate flow rates and volumes
• Apply basic arithmetic to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
