The Chemical Plant Operator I, will operate, perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot basic issues for a series of machines and equipment in the use of chemicals to produce consumer products while following established policies and procedures and under frequent guidance. In this role, you will run analytical tests and ensure quality control during chemical processes and maintain a dynamic and continuous process flow that meets safety and regulatory compliance. Monitor equipment and controls panels, execute manual valves, sample and run analytical tests, perform basic adjustments to chemical processes as needed and utilize computer systems to input and record data, working from written or verbal instructions. Identify continuous improvement of facility operations relative to area(s) of responsibility, with limited authority to make changes, as defined by management. Ensure collection and completion of safety permits, safety reviews and safety practices. Operate mobile powered equipment (i.e. Forklift, Skid Loader, Sit Down Floor Sweeper, Front End Loader). Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment utilized by the facility to troubleshoot, perform light maintenance and complete repair work. Use power tools, basic hand tools and electrical tools to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot routine machine performance issues and assist on more complex maintenance work.
