Pay

  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,000, payable during the pay period following successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment
  • Retention Bonuses: Two additional $500 bonuses paid at 6 months and 1 year of employment, contingent upon active employment and good standing
  • Annual Merit Increases: Eligible for yearly performance-based pay increases

About the role

The Forklift Operator and Materials Handler reports to the Supply Chain Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location. This role involves staging and returning raw material ingredients for production lines using a forklift and our inventory control system (QAD / RF scanning), as well as organizing and maintaining existing inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload finished goods
  • Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material within the warehouse
  • Check in drivers, load trucks using BOL (Bill of Lading) and FIFO method, complete the load, print the BOL, and sign out drivers
  • Tag and properly store finished product from production lines in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion
  • Use RF scanners to capture all movements and QAD for tag edits
  • Ensure product rotation by shipping the oldest product first; use pick sheets to assist in rotation and report discrepancies
  • Maintain product quality, including correct rotation, tagging, and preventing damage in the warehouse
  • Record flow information of materials and products
  • Adhere to food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for the position
  • Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
  • Adopt and maintain all SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements for the position
  • Work with supervision to resolve food safety and quality issues within scope of work
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined entry using LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
  • Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, color, and peripheral vision (with or without correction). Must visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range (with or without correction). Exposure to noise from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
