3rd Shift Forklift Operator - Material Handler

About the Role

As a Forklift Operator - Material Handler with Liberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely moving goods and materials around a high traffic industrial environment. You will help maximize efficiency of the production process by safely operating mobile equipment to move product, accurately scanning inventory in and out of the business, operating shrink wrap machines, and preparing shipments for transportation. This full-time position reports directly to a Production Supervisor and is located at our Brooklyn Park, Minnesota manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment.
• Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system, including a touch screen monitor located on the forklift, to track inventory levels and product location.
• Regularly complete pre-operation inspection and report equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
• Prepare shipments for transport, consolidate partial pallets, and operate the shrink wrap machine as needed.
• Move product and/or materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trailers.
• Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution AND 1+ year experience operating mobile equipment or comparable experience in place of education.
• Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
• Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Knowledge of warehouse organization, workflow, as well as basic inventory control (e.g., Amtech).
• Previous experience with reading a tape measure.

Pay

The starting pay rate for this position is $22.77 per hour (plus shift differential if applicable).

Eligibility in benefit programs is based on hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold warehouse/manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to sit/stand for 6+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to walk for 3+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to reach/grasp for 4+ hours per shift.
