Operator (Expansion) I TFE - 2nd Shift

About the role

This position involves expanding, cutting, inspecting, bagging, and tagging tubing, including the preparation of dual shrink tubing. The operator will set up and operate heat shrink equipment, pack dies, and maintain accurate records while ensuring a clean and safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Spooling input onto heat shrink spools
• Coiling input
• Clamping, taping, cutting, inspecting, bagging, tagging, and straightening tubing
• Labeling and preparing orders for shipping
• Packing heat shrink dies in oven and setting up heat shrink equipment to meet order specifications
• Keeping accurate records and paperwork
• Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
• Observing all safety rules and regulations
• Performing occasional utility work

Qualifications

• Ability to perform inspection functions such as visual inspection for cosmetic defects and color differentiation
• Familiarity with solvents including naphtha, acetone, and alcohol; adherence to safety equipment and rules
• Ability to stand within a 30-foot by 36-inch area with limited sitting
• Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds periodically to a height of 36 inches
• Constant walking and some stationary standing
• Legible writing skills for completing worksheet data
• Use of safety equipment such as heat gloves, safety glasses, and protective gear as needed
• Proficiency in cleaning using brooms, mops, rags, and all-purpose cleaners
• Thorough knowledge of standard and good sense practices
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and adapt to different situations
• Capacity to make sound judgments and decisions based on experience
• Basic mathematics knowledge is helpful
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; unscheduled absences or tardiness may negatively impact production objectives
